Locality · Antediluvian desert ruin
The Nameless City
A city built to a scale and shape that fits nothing that walks upright, predating every other ruin the narrator has studied by an order of magnitude. Its lower passages suggest the builders had a very long time to wait, and may still be waiting.
Whereabouts: A low-walled ruin in the depths of the Arabian desert, in territory the local Bedouin refuse to enter and most maps leave blank.
Access: By camel, alone, after tracking rumors other explorers dismissed as folklore — the narrator's is the only expedition on record to actually reach it.
