Locality · Massachusetts fishing port
Innsmouth, Massachusetts
Once a prosperous port, now reduced to a few hundred residents with a shared and increasingly amphibious look about them. Devil Reef lies within sight of the waterfront, and the town's dominant religious institution keeps its doors closed to outsiders.
Whereabouts: A near-abandoned fishing port on the Massachusetts coast, between Newburyport and Arkham, that mainland Massachusetts prefers not to think about.
Access: By a battered bus service out of Newburyport — the only scheduled way in, run by a driver of unmistakably Innsmouth stock; the return trip is considerably harder to arrange.
