Locality · Isolated Massachusetts farmhouse
A Farmhouse, Miskatonic Valley
An unusually well-preserved colonial-era farmhouse whose single long-term occupant has kept its library, and himself, in better condition than the surrounding decay would suggest. The building does not survive the story's final thunderbolt, which the Archive considers the tidier outcome of the two available.
Whereabouts: A decrepit seventeenth-century farmhouse in the backwoods of the Miskatonic Valley, well off any road a genealogist would think to plan around.
Access: On foot, and only by accident — the narrator finds it while taking shelter from a November storm, with no indication anyone visits it by design.
