Olathoe, Land of Lomar

A watch-city on the edge of an arctic frontier, defended against a barbarian horde by a garrison that depended on one particular sentry staying awake. Whether it fell in deep prehistory or is still, from some other angle, in the middle of falling remains open on this Archive's copy of the file.

Whereabouts: A plateau city between mountain peaks in the ancient northern land of Lomar, beneath a Pole Star the sole witness insists behaves unlike the one currently overhead.

Access: Reached only through the same sleep-vision that first stranded the narrator there; no waking expedition has ever set out for it, since no waking record agrees Lomar ever existed.
