The Sunless Castle

A decaying, ivy-choked fortress with no visible way out and, evidently, only one occupant for as long as anyone can determine. Its single tower turns out to be less a means of escape than a means of finally being seen.

Whereabouts: Never named or placed on any map by its sole inhabitant, who had no other structure or example to compare it to.

Access: Outward only, and only once — by climbing a single ruined tower until its stones give way to open sky, a route its inhabitant found through persistence rather than any known door.
