Cool Air (1971)
The refrigeration apparatus, the failing seal on the doctor's rented room, the ending's particular unpleasantness — all carried over largely intact. What didn't survive is the witness: the teleplay drops the original boarder-narrator entirely and installs an invented replacement, the daughter of a colleague, drawn in for a romantic subplot the account itself never mentions. Swapping out who actually saw this and reported it, rather than where or when it happened, is a scrub of a kind the Archive doesn't file often.
