The Empty Man (2020)

Adapted from an original comic, not from any case on file, and neither the director nor the comic's writer has gone on record naming this Archive's subject matter as an influence — on that count alone this entry sits on thinner ground than its neighbors above. What keeps it filed rather than dismissed is how consistently outside critics have independently reached for the same comparison anyway, describing its ancient, thought-borne intelligence and the cult built around it in terms usually reserved for this Archive's own case files. No confirmation, no denial, genuine disagreement among analysts about whether that's a real correspondence or an inherited house style of horror criticism. Filed pending further review, not as a settled call.
