The Sunken Temple
A drowned city of marble temples and colonnades, populated in antiquity by a race whose carved likenesses and trained dolphins are the only trace of them still active. Its central temple exerts a pull on visitors that the one surviving account describes as considerably stronger than curiosity.
Whereabouts: The Atlantic seafloor at an unrecorded depth and position, reached only by the drift of a disabled, rudderless submarine rather than by any deliberate expedition.
Access: By a stricken vessel sinking to the bottom under its own dead weight; no return trip has ever been attempted, let alone completed.
