Beyond the Wall of Sleep (2006)
The original account is a quiet one — a rural asylum inmate, a doctor who starts dreaming what the patient dreams, a mind that turns out not to be his own. The production relocates all of it to a considerably louder register: cortex probes, skull trephination, an intern's escalating experiments played for body-horror shock rather than the source's slow dread. Whatever discretion the case once had did not survive the adaptation.
