Nyarlathotep
A stranger calling himself Nyarlathotep arrives from Egypt claiming twenty-seven centuries of memory, and gives increasingly public demonstrations of instruments and abilities that shouldn't exist. Everyone who attends leaves changed, and the city around them starts changing to match — crumbling, emptying, forgetting itself — long before anyone still there works out that the demonstrations were never really the point.
