Kingsport, Massachusetts

A town that keeps its calendar closer to the old country than to the rest of Massachusetts, particularly around the winter solstice. Some of its oldest families are understood by their neighbors to be waiting out something considerably longer than a human lifetime.

Whereabouts: An old coastal town of steep, narrow streets north of Arkham, Massachusetts, known for keeping its holidays and its silences alike.

Access: On foot, along the coastal road — both the returning celebrant obligated to a family rite and the trio of small-time thieves who target the town's reclusive hermit arrive the same ordinary way, on their own two feet.
