Pickman's Model (2022)

A second production on file, fifty-one years after the first (see Pickman's Model, 1971), and it makes the same choice under an anthology's different name — the chronicle's whole design is a single photograph doing all the damage by implication; this one puts the thing itself on screen, in full, legible view. An invented backstory pads out the narrator, unnamed in the chronicle but called Thurber here. The ending resolves into an ordinary tragedy rather than the original's deliberately unanswered question.
