A Boston painter of old Salem stock whose studio work grew too accurate to pass off as invention, and whose eventual disappearance from human circles turned out to be less a disappearance than a change of address. He resurfaces, fully transitioned and evidently thriving, as one of the more reliable allies a dreaming traveler can recruit — proof, as far as the Archive is willing to commit to print, that the transition described in his own case file is survivable.
