The Call of Cthulhu (2005)

Produced silent, in black-and-white, under a process the production credits itself as 'Mythoscope' — full immersion in 1926 studio technique, framing, and cutting, rather than a modern film styled to look old. The result does not read as pastiche. Archive staff shown the negative without context have, on three separate occasions, filed it as recovered period footage before being corrected. No satisfactory account exists of how a 2005 production achieved that; the entry stays open pending one.
