The Unnamable (1988)
The chronicle's entire premise is that the thing resists description past the point language can follow it — that's the case's title. The production settled on a specific, fully visible creature design regardless, sustained across close to ninety minutes of screen time, with no account on file of where that design came from or how closely it tracks anything real. Stranger still: the lead is named Randolph Carter, a name that belongs to an entirely different, unconnected set of cases on file elsewhere in this Archive (see cross-reference). Nothing in the original chronicle uses that name. Why the production borrowed it for an unrelated protagonist is not explained anywhere in the credits.
